Contribuiți la feedbackI had a cabin with 2 beds. It was quiet and clean. I would ask for a stronger lock on the door--maybe a deadbolt but otherwise it was great and economical. There is a bathroom and electricity in the cabin but no internet, so bring a book! I'd stay there again. The breakfast was delicious.
We stayed one night and ate here. We were the only ones in the campground. The owner yelled (yes yelled and quite loudly) at us twice. In both cases they were things that perhaps merited a comment or suggestion, but not yelling. I personally witnessed him yelling at two other customers while I was there. There may be a reason that no one camps here - you'll probably have more fun 2k down the road at the park campground or 30k at the Yukon Discovery.Owner should seriously look at taking some customer service training courses, or perhaps, change jobs into one where simple issues don't upset him so much.I won't bore you with the details of why we were yelled at but if you look around the place, you'll start to notice a massive number of "don't do this" signs. If you stop here, read these signs all very carefully - or risk the wrath of a very angry French man yelling at you. Too bad really as the food was good. We will not stop here next time through.
We enjoyed our quick stop here: beautiful grounds, cozy interior, unexpected menu items in this location. TBH it wasn't the best crepe I've ever had (too crispy, thin) but it was a good size for the 6,75 Canadian price. The baked goods were nearly gone just after noon but looked good.
While not large this is a multi purpose facility. There is a bakery which has a handful of offerings. There is also a menu board of French food that can be eaten in the restaurant. We had quiche which was large and delicious. The next morning we had the fresh cinnamon rolls which were great. They also offer cabins, shared rooms (hostels) and camping. Camping was inexpensive but the showers were pricy. The camping was set among mature pines and was very peaceful. There were hookups but I'm not sure if they worked. There was an outhouse and we filled water at the cafe.I liked the uncrowned camping and the peaceful atmosphere. I'd stay here again if I were in the area.
Not to be missed. Authentic French baked goods and crepes on a remote stretch of the Alaska Highway between Haines Junction and Beaver Creek. We had a short but enjoyable visit with the owners, and some awesome bread and muffins for the road. This will be a "must" stop on our trips.
