Madam Viet - Beaumaris

Date night was a success. This place was a perfect chance for my wife and I to enjoy some quality food and wine in a great space. 5 courses for $59 was amazing value and the selection was enough to make the choices difficult. We added a dessert because you can on date night. Wine selection was also decent and matched to our food. Book in advance as this place was heaving.

Living locally to Madam Viet I was intrigued to see why this restaurant was consistently busy. Loving vietnamese food with regular travels to Springvale with my family we were happy to try the new local resteraunt. The share plates tasted amazing but there was nothing to share. The main course was restricted to soup or curry which is not a Vietnamese favourite in our family. Next time it's back to Springvale where there is a variety of menu options and adequate serving portions.

My husband and I went to the 6 o'clock seating with another couple. We usually don't like restaurants with multiple sittings, especially the first one, but we decided to try the 5 plates for $59 deal. In the end, we ended up ordering 10 plates because the food was exceptional and we enjoyed every dish. The noise level was not an issue for us, and we found the table service to be great. The cocktails were also pretty good. We are looking forward to going back again.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively. However, it was quite noisy so we had to raise our voices to have a conversation. Opting for the second seating was a smart choice as it allowed us more time to order and enjoy our meal.

I went out with friends on Friday night and arrived at 6:15, only to be told that we needed to leave by 7:30 for the next seating. Despite ordering our food, we were asked multiple times by different staff members if we wanted to order. This was my second time at this restaurant, with my first visit costing $300 and last night's visit costing $115. We wanted more food and drinks but had to leave before we could order. Our bill for two waters, two beers, and the $59 special came to $82. The experience was unpleasant and stressful for both the staff and customers trying to find a seat to finish their drinks. If Miss Viet in Cheltenham is similar, it will likely be avoided by many. This restaurant needs to reconsider its policies.
