Le Grand Hotel de L'Abbaye - Beaugency

This hotel is warm, welcoming, clean and historical. The bar/lounge is a comfortable place to hang out, meet or relax. Location is ideal for tours the Chateaux of the Loire, and walking to the food. Beautiful view of the river Loire and bridge where Joan crosses Arc.

A little different hotel but we really enjoyed our stay here. It was very easy to find even though they left something when we showed up. Our room was a mezzanine with bathroom upstairs. It is worth saying that the character of the place means that there is a few comfort such air conditioning and the shower was very low, each larger 5'5 would have struggled to wash hair there. Breakfast was extensive with the help of even fresh orange juice producers. There was a large area for bicycle storage, although the outside door had no lock. All staff were very friendly.

It was a very special experience to stay in this hotel. Thank you for helping us with our luggage. We miss dinner during our stay, but enjoyed breakfast. Hope you have the property as it is...will make your guest the best spots to take photos... and more English writings about the history of Abbaye...

Good points: beautiful medieval building, excellent views of the Loire and the 'Pont de la Loire', good food, very friendly and helpful staff who spoke all English. Bad points: We came back in the afternoon of our second day to find the hotel locked and we couldn't get in. We discovered by a random meeting with one of the employees on the following day that there was a code for the castle. We hadn't given it. In addition, we were not told in advance that the restaurant would be close for four of our seven days stay. Our room was very simple, although we didn't notice it, the only ornament was the three spiders that seem to be there.

We have a pleasant stay at this hotel. Very warm welcome, the staff is charming and available. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is amazing with good food. We will come Black with pleasure.
