Blackbeard's Grill Steam - Beaufort

I've tried to get some nice steamed oysters since the season. I had a dozen in Greenville, but they were embarrassing, not under the price. At Blackbeard I had 12 healthy oysters, perfectly damped. I also had a delicious group of crab legs. Mom had fried shrimp oysters and also enjoyed them. Definitely recommend.

The tables are really close together, and it's a super casual setting. They were short staffed, but the service was still excellent. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops, a fried platter, grilled shrimp, and one snow crab cluster. The grilled shrimp were excellent, everyone loved them. The bacon wrapped scallops had great potential, but the execution fell a little short with super salty and undercooked bacon. The crab was a little cold. The grouper bites were pretty good. My boyfriend liked the fried shrimp. As everyone else mentioned, the sides fall short. The mashed potatoes and fries were bland, it's like the chef never touched a potatoe before this night. Becky should be ashamed to have her name associated with those crabcakes.

Very nice private room for celebrations. The restaurant owners and waite staff are very ACCOMMODATING. They check on their guests to make sure every thing meets our expectations. Food is DELICIOUS and FRESH. Thanks for the opportunity to hold my retirement celebration there it was fun!

Apparently quite a bit of locals come here, thinking we were the only ones not locals. And that was a Thursday night dinner! Table are pretty tight together, so no covid ! Distancing possible! Staff very friendly, good collards,sweet potato casserole yummy and sweet. But they screw up my bluefish order of grill vs fried. Still tasted good and at least didn't seem greasy . Hubby trout slightly overcook ,they upcharge for salad , if you pick it for as a side .oh there's a statue of Blackbeard too.

Overheard another person raving about this seafood. So we scratched our reservation at another restaurant and came here. So glad we did. Service was fantastic even though they were short staffed and we ordered the fried trout!!! It?s was delicious didn?t use ketchup because the flavor was spot on.
