We drove from Texas to Ohio and we were there for a family reunion. We were told when booking that we would have breakfast included in our stay, however the first morning we woke up to discover that we would not be receiving breakfast because it was put in our reservation as no breakfast. The host asked as well as my mother when we booked them. We alone were a family of 9. The desk agents tried several times to contact someone, however the lady who did the booking was on vacation. My room had hot water the first night, but the next morning and the next 3 days we had no hot water in none of the three rooms my family booked. In my room our cable wouldn’t work after the first night. The front desk agent did try to reset it for us. It started to turn back on but to no avail. My teens hooked up their gaming system for the rest of our stay. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Our last night there, we had a new front desk agent who knew nothing about anything, but was still trying to help. When we were leaving the next morning she took down our information and told us that the GM was gone but coming back in a few hours (10, and we were leaving at around 8:10). We left two phone numbers because we were about to get on the road to head back home. After three weeks we still had not heard from anyone. My mom called the main office number of the hotels and she was given a one night free stay for her inconvenience. However no one else was able to be compensated because although we paid with different cards the initial reservation was in her name. It’s crazy that she had to call after three weeks because no one had reached out to us about our issues from our stay.Rooms: Our room was nice, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a mini fridge but the closet space was a little small for the four of us. So I neatly put what ever bags that did not fit against the wall. Other than that the only thing that I change would be to have added a microwave.
I’m not sure why Google says this is a 4 star hotel. This is more like a 2 1/2 or 3 star at best. THIS HOTEL IS UNDERSTAFFED AND THERE IS NO ROOM SERVICE. The location is great and check in was fast. The first room we were sent to on the first floor was unsanitary. There was black mold on the walls and stains on the bed sheets. There was lots of dust and left over trash next to the nightstands and behind the bed. The room smelled of mildew and smoke. I went to the front desk and asked to be moved to a new room. We were move to the 4th floor however it was an assessable room. The shower was open and the water leaked out to the room floor. Needless to say we will not be returning to the property. The only highlight of this hotel was the Hyde park restaurant it was fabulous 5/5!
I really wanted to give them 5 stars because the staff was amazing but unfortunately I can’t. We came here for a family reunion so there was a group of us. We were all promised free breakfast with our stay and even called to confirm when we were booking. When we got on site, we were told that we wouldn’t be getting free breakfast and that the sales rep that put our package in was on vacation and she put no free breakfast on our paper work. We were there for 4 days and was never given it. We didn’t have hot water in our showers for the entire stay and the tv didn’t work in one of the rooms. There’s no pool on site and only standing showers so be mindful if you are traveling with kids. I have a 1 yr old that I had to bathe in the sink because water wasn’t warm enough and because he’s too little to take a shower. The staff tried reaching out to the GM and we were told that they would be calling when they came in but we never received it. Overall we were pretty disappointed in our stay and probably won’t be coming back.
The place was clean. People were pleasant. Sofa in our room was sadly in need of replacing....sunken seats. Darn Direct TV never did work right, kept cutting out, saying no signal, although we reported trouble with it at 9am, front desk person indicated she'd have someone take care of it that day, and we didn't return until 10pm. The only bar is in the attached restaurant next door, which closed at 10pm.
The aesthetic of this hotel is modern and chic. I love it. It is pet-friendly! They even had a “yard-like” area for doggies to go potty. It was super convenient. There was a small cafe where light snacks are sold. It was mediocre. I was disappointed that they did not have hot breakfast buffet BUT the alternative was much better. They give you these tickets that you can fill out the night before to order things like breakfast sandwiches, omelets, eggs any style etc. you fill it out and put the time you’d like to pick up your breakfast the next morning and they have it ready. The meals were delicious as well. The only negative thing I experienced was the fact that there was this god awful rotten egg smell coming from my bathroom. I wasn’t sure what it was so I bought air freshener and it made the room smell nice but the bathroom still had an odor. I’m not sure if it was the drain, the toilet, or the sink. I told the front desk staff and I noticed later that day that someone poured something down the shower drain. That had a peculiar smell as well. The rotten egg odor never went away, but it did get better. Overall, the facilities were clean, new, and in good condition.
