We were friendly and tried to smile but everyone minus one waitress who was lovely and saved us from leaving made us uncomfortable. Not coming back. I also bought the sliders and the bread was old and the 'pork ' tasted like cheap tuna.
Average food, they're lucky they have a great harbour location. It's the only decent stop out there. I would seriously consider changing the menu or hiring a new chef.
We went to Pepper Jacks at 10 am with a group of 12 people. There were not many people in the restaurant. We joined the group already seated and after 15 minutes no one had come to take our order so we got up and ordered our coffee at the counter. Various members of the group continued to arrive and all had to get up and order their own coffee. They had smoothies on the menu but when we ordered one we were told the machine was broken. The soy flat white was terrible and my husbands long Black was ordinary. We were there for two whole hours and not once did anyone come to the table to take our orders, even though there was menus on the table at each place setting. In the end we left without eating because they didn't seem interested in taking our orders. Will definitely not go back there again.
My friends and I came across Pepper Jack's while trying to find a new place for a dinner date. Located at the Pine Harbour Marina in Beachlands, its a beautiful, scenic drive to get there. Even when we were seated we had a terrific view of the pier, which is a nice change from traffic and buildings in town. The menu is simple and very light on the entrees, but they have a few mains to choose from. I tried the eye fillet that night- I just couldn't say no to the fact that it would be wrapped in bacon- and, being medium rare in all its glory, was delightful. The yorkshire pudding on top was also a nice touch. I'm not huge on cooked fish but I did get to try their market fish of the day (snapper) and it was cooked very well. The staff that night were pretty good but seemed a bit inexperienced. On top of that, the wait for our mains was close to an hour which was hard to believe considering there were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant. I'd recommend going on a weeknight (we went on a Saturday) to try it for yourself.
Really disappointed with this place, we have been before and was nice, however returned 4 weeks later and was discussed, basically ordered an onion with barbecue sauce and the owner was so rude because we wanted barbecue sauce he actually came over and made a fuss staring this will NEVER happen again it's his signature dish and can not ever happen again. It's fried onion for God sake ! He embarrassed himself and also me and my family to the point if my kids were not there I probably would of lost my temper. The chicken was stringy and average pasta was salty. I would describe the food as mutton dressed as lamb. Positives things were kids portions were generous. Decent kids entertainment and nice view I was going to take a party of 25 for a birthday next month that's why we went but with the owners attitude we will never return. I never leave reviews but feel so strongly about this place I will post on every review site I can find.
