Restaurant Domaine de Fompeyre - Bazas

This was the place to eat a few years ago, but it has lost its touch, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is cold and badly decorated. eating is not great and not cheap.

The winter garden has a good view of the cathedrale. very pleasant environment. interesting menu beautifully presented. service was good and choice was ok if a little too expensive. recommend a special occasion, i.e. birthday

The evening meal was furnished on a large terrace in the open, partly camping. under the tents were ventilators blown, so the wind was free, which was the end result that we were cold. it was very slow to deteriorate the things. for eating was my appetizer of the gänsiersalat good, the bark with very strange orange garnish, which followed was not good. the dessert of the cheeses was best on average. the worse part was weeping in the glass, I chose two red bordeaux supposedly quite good vintages. the waitress brought the first glass without showing me the bottle. it wasn't very good, so I asked to see the bottle before she spilled the second. However, it repeated the same process in which it was claimed that a machine in the bar that fills the glasses and the bottle could not be transferred. the second glass was even worse than the first. I pay two supposedly decent weeping and drink two unpalatable glasses without being sure they were what I ordered.

We have eaten my wife and I in the restaurant of domaine de fompeyre. we enjoyed an excellent dinner in l’orangeraie, we chose the 37 euro menu (see pictures) with glasses of sauternes throughout the evening meal. as an appetizer, my wife...had the eggs and mushrooms ' called oeufs brouillés aux cèpes' while I ordered the gambas (big garnels). our main course was . as desert I had a chocolat and pear house made cucumber with chantilly eis (see picture), my wife chose the earth berry with to house made chantilly cream called aumonière fraises chantilly' (see picture), we really enjoyed this well cooked food of quality, also the waiter was really dedicated. this restaurant has a view of the small village bazas with its beautiful Gothic cathedrale. when they come to lunch, they can have access to the 2 swimming pools, as there is an outside area and an inside area with spa, hamam and jacuzzi. this is a strong recommendation, and we will certainly come back! (in times of haste, resrvation recommended.)

Dinner was set up on a large outdoor terrace,partly under tents.Below the tents ceiling fans were blowing,so was the wind outdoors,the end result was that we were cold.To make matters worse service was very slow.For the food my appetizer of gesier salad was good,the beef with very strange orange garnish that followed was not good.Dessert of cheeses was average at best.The worse part was wine by the glass,I chose two red Bordeaux supposedly fairly good vintages.The waitress brought the first glass filled without showing me the bottle.It was not very good so I asked to see the bottle before she poured me the second one.However she repeated the same process claiming there was a machine in the bar filling the glasses and the bottle could not be brought over.The second glass was even worse than the first.I ended up paying for two supposedly decent wines and drinking two unpalatable glasses without being sure they were what I ordered.
