One of my buddies talked about coming here one day and said that this place is pretty good so I had to try it out. Walking in the atmosphere was pretty great. They also have a grocery store as soon as you walk in to have a lot of items that pick my interest on trying but I was just focus on the food at this point. When we sat down we were greeted by great service. I didn't know the place was a buffet so it did surprise me. The buffet is kind of on the smaller side but when I was told this was a mom and pop shop it kind of made sense however that didn't take away from the quality. I tried everything they had and I would say it was pretty decent. I tried authentic sauerkraut for the first time and I can say they changed my whole perspective on that for sure. Overall if you're looking for a nice hidden gem in Bay City give them a try but I'm pretty sure most locals already know about it I just can't wait to the party lol.
For a Polish restaurant, there is only about one Polish item on the menu, which seems lacking if that's the category it's trying to be in. However, the Polish plate (the only Polish item) was delicious! Every item on it was just perfectly done. The kielbasa was flavorful, the pierogis were crisp but soft inside, the sauerkraut had the perfect tang. It was truly delicious. Everyone at my table (4 of 5) who ordered it enjoyed it. The 5th person got the buffet. She reported the chicken noodle soup was good, the noodles were homemade and very pleasant. The fried chicken had an off taste, so she didn't eat it but everything else was good.
Disappointed. We have come here for years and it has been wonderful. This time the food was warm at best. Selection was mostly protein not many sides. Limited desserts. Salad bar was the best part. Missed the chicken noodle soup.
Called the store to see if they had a breakfast buffet. Yes. It's closing in half an hour. Arrive 15 minutes later. We're not serving it anymore, we're getting ready for lunch (as they're taking eggs back into the kitchen.. we were starving). Never going back, never suggesting this place again. Life long Polish Bay City resident...
