Southern Pearl Oyster House

The food at this restaurant is predominantly good, but there were some inconsistencies. The raw oysters were sweet, but their sizes varied, with some being large and others tiny. The grilled oysters were tasty and uniformly sized. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pecan and bacon crusted red fish, however, my red royal shrimps were disappointing. We visited on a Monday when they were offering an all-you-can-eat special, but sadly my first two plates were overcooked and gritty. The service was lacking, as our waitress did not keep our table clean or attend to our needs unless explicitly asked. We spent a lot of time waiting for her to address missing items or requests. Considering the high cost of our meal, we are likely to dine elsewhere when passing through Baton Rouge in the future.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! I loved the oyster sampler platter and the snapper. The side salad and crawfish and crab bisque were also delicious. Their homemade margarita mix was excellent, especially during happy hour. The bartenders were friendly, personable, and attentive. I will definitely return in the future.

I highly recommend this restaurant as everything from the charbroiled oysters to the crab claws, grilled fish, seafood sampler, cheeseburgers, chocolate mousse cake, and margaritas were all delicious. The service was exceptional and I will definitely be returning in the future.

Food was overall good. Few things could be improved on. Appetizer was shrimp and crab dip. We found it a bit salty and the toasted bread was very soft and floppy. Still was pretty good. The shrimp orleans was very tasty but also very spicy, even for me and I love spicy. Bacon shrimp and grits was good, shrimp all perfectly cooked but the grits were pretty cold and shrimp super hot, kinda disappointing but still good. The sweet potato brulee side dish was outstanding. Thebananas foster cheese cake was awesome. Also must try the hush puppies they are worth getting, so good. We had a to go order of the uptowner steak sandwich. Got home and they left out the Dijon horseradish sauce it is supposed to come witheven when I specifically made sure with waitress it would come with it. I really want to take another star off just for this but I won't. Would give a 3.5 if I could overall. Service was good from wait staff very friendly andknowledgeable.

The staff was nice and the food was very good. I ordered the redfish that had all the snapper fixings. They had no problem switching the fish around for me since I'm allergic to snapper. Quality was worth the price. The bananas foster cheesecake was to live for!
