St James's Cafe Deli

We chanced upon this cafe/deli as we were heading back into town for lunch having wandered around the lesser known crescents in Bath. On a Saturday EVERYWHERE in central Bath is packed so to find somewhere with a table was a bonus and THEN THERE WAS THE FOOD. The menu is short and sweet, everything's homemade and completely delicious. I chose the sausage roll (simply the best EVER) with an apple coleslaw and my friends had the salmon with salads. The drinks are up market bottles I had a lovely Luscombe Strawberry crush. The array of cakes were tempting but we'll go back another day to try them. The owners were efficient and welcoming and when we engaged in conversation very chatty and friendly ! Can't wait to return. Couldn't recommend more !! (Bonus is you can buy Hobbs House bread here)

A consistently excellent little eatery and coffee stop, Alex and Kim are doing a great job. The food is always fresh and interesting and so tempting, you often come away with more than to anticipated. Plenty of regulars here and a good place for visitors to find as word of mouth does the job. These proprietors are really hard workers!

This local deli cafe serves the most wonderful homemade food. the sausage rolls are to die for! all served with daily fresh salads of your choice and you get a really decent sized plate fo food. Great place for a casual lunch. really nice friendly owners and staff too

Food is made fresh every day and there is a great selection of vegetarian , gluten free and normal food all made by the owner’s wife. She also does take away food for anyone holding a party. This is a super place to meet for coffee and cakes plus delightful lunches.

Popped in here for a light salad lunch with my teen daughter. I had a really good aubergine salad which consisted of half a (roasted? aubergine, with red and yellow tomatoes and feta. My daughter had some delicious cous cous salad, and a tomato, pepper and green leaves salad. She also had a custard tart, which she said was very good. Cappuccino was quite good but not amazing but I am giving 5 stars because the salad was outstanding. We also bought an arty mug as a gift.
