Mao's Thai Restaurant - BATEHAVEN

When we placed our order, we were told our meals would be ready in 20 minutes. However, our meal ended up taking 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive. We understand that it's high season, but we do not appreciate being misled. It really affected our evening as we were unable to entertain the children any longer. Additionally, the food quality at this restaurant was average at best.

The Thai food at this restaurant is fantastic. The pad thai is especially delicious, and the sticky mango rice for dessert is the best I've had outside of Thailand. The view from the restaurant overlooking the beach is beautiful.

We had a fantastic meal at Mao's. The fish cakes were moist and flavorful, and the red curry beef had a rich and delicious sauce, although it was a bit less spicy than expected. The meat was tender. The standout dish of the night for both me and my friend was the pad preow warn with mixed seafood (a stir-fry with a sweet and tangy sauce, pineapple, and sweetness.) The sauce was sweet, but not overly so, allowing the flavors of the seafood and sweetness to shine through. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and our meal arrived promptly. The restaurant is easy to spot and offers a view of the bay. Please note that this restaurant does not accept reservations.

Only the best Thai food in the city and in harmony with mao itself always float over the woks. enter them from behind, where there is always plenty of space in the batehaven parking. corkage is cheap and the bottle shop a few steps away from the entrance.

So slow!!! Took a whole hour to get just our drinks and nearly 2 hours for our main meal and the place was barely even busy
