Decided to take a small diversion off the A1 to find some lunch and came across this place. Wanted to eat inside but there were no available tables good sign. Ordered some takeaway sandwiches instead a tuna sandwich and the monthly special (warm chicken fajita wrap). Great sandwiches and great value. So much better than any service station offerings. Definitely worth the small diversion off the A1.
We stopped here on the way up the A1, it being only a few minutes' drive away. There is some free parking outside but also some more free parking in Tuxford Working Men’s club, just around the corner. The cafe adjoins a sandwich and cake shop and the ladies running both were very friendly and helpful. Great coffee and a lovely full English Breakfast were quickly served up. Eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, black pudding, tinned tomatoes (which I prefer), hash browns and a stack of delicious toast. The icing on the cake was a real fire. It was exactly what we had been hoping for. We had the large breafast and several drink refills. With all this, it was about £15 each, and worth it. We may very well stop in on our return trip!
I just enjoyed eggs florentine at the crusty cob, just passing through Tuxford and chose the café sort of at random. As well as friendly and quick service, the flat white I had was the absolute business (beans from Stokes of Lincoln). The cranberry and white chocolate slice finished it off nicely CHEERS!
Stopped on route to Suffolk, very friendly and accommodating staff, opened the back patio so we could take our dog outside whilst we ate a very nice breakfast bap, nothing to much trouble. Would definitely recommend this cafe. Thank you to the staff.
