Catfish Country - Bartow

Stopped in this evening for dinner since I've seen it a few times driving by. Wanted some fried shrimp, catfish and scallops. That said I've never been so disappointed in a dining experience like I was on my first and only visit here. Service was pleasant enough but I was given either stingray meat or gator meat or some mystery meat that was being passed off as scallops and I eat scallops enough to know the difference!!!! Shameful and deceitful to try to pass any other meat off as scallops!!! As for the catfish it was also very disappointing and it's in the name of the place, you'd think that they'd get that right but nope small pieces and unflavored made the experience horrible.

Awesome place. They serve warm biscuits and fresh Cole slaw. Had fried green tomatoes (8 slices) which were excellent they come with a horseradish sauce. Coconut shrimp (6 large shrimp). For the meal we had a huge codfish sandwich with fries and hushpuppy as well as fried clam strips. I had the black eyed peas as my side, those were excellent as well. Our waitress was excellent as well check on us frequently, since we couldn't decide what to try, wanted 1 of everything. She also made sure my sweet tea was always filled. Will definitely make the hour drive just to come eat here again.

The food was awesome, and great service. The place had great atmosphere.

It was our first visit you got biscuits which were very good. The food was delicious, very filling the gator bits were so good. It's worth stopping by. Our waitress was awesome as well she made sure we were happy.
