Tocino del cielo is a caramel flan custard that has great taste Overall this place lacks the luxury or service of a tourist restaurant, but it has solid good flavor. Local cuisine with decent flavor. If you want to try real Peruvian food besides Peruvian gourmet food, this is a good place to visit.
Sillar is an absolute gem of a place in Miraflores. The prices are great and portions are huge. One of the most enjoyable restaurant experiences I've had in years anywhere. Highly recommended! The waiter seemed to love his job and explained the odd arequipan foods to us as clearly as possible and recommended a fantastic dish to me.
I almost hate writing this. I simply do not want this place over run with tourists. But I cannot resist. Went there at the suggestion of Chef Yurac from Skykitchen. Small place. Quaint. All locals. Saw some awesome looking chicken. I got the ceviche pescado. Wow. These people know how to cook! Simply amazing. And dirt cheap by USA or EU standards. Will go again tomorrow,
