Brewers Fayre Meadows - Barnsley

We enjoyed a delightful breakfast with friends. However, we've visited this restaurant numerous times, and while the staff typically provide excellent service, there is one employee who seems to have taken an unfriendly stance toward my partner. She has been rude to him on several occasions. What she perceives as playful banter has become a consistent issue, and it's disappointing because it detracts from the customer service experience we expect. Another staff member mentioned that she's someone you either love or hate. While I think "hate" is a bit extreme, her behavior has become tiresome enough that we are seriously considering looking for other dining options.

After heading to the bar to place our order, we experienced a lengthy wait due to only one person serving, despite many other staff members standing around. Once we were seated, we waited for our food. Unfortunately, a few staff members were taking their breaks nearby, and I was quite taken aback by the language used by one male staff member, especially since my daughter could hear everything. I considered speaking to a manager about it but ultimately decided it was best to leave, as they were all laughing and joking as if it were acceptable behavior. It's such a shame because the food is enjoyable, but there is definitely a need for more thorough cleaning of the tables and menus. If this is the standard that customers can see, one has to wonder what the standard is like in the kitchen.

I had a burger and fries, a Coke, and a dessert. Overall, it was a great value for the money, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. However, what really made the experience special was Jane. She was incredibly quick, racing plates to the tables, yet she was also very methodical in ensuring that everyone's needs were not only met but exceeded. Thank you, Jane, for a wonderful visit!

The place is OK, good for the kids.. food isn't too bad. We've had worse. However the service is very slow. When ordering drinks/food takes ages. Plus not very good at table checking.. to see if everything is OK with meals and cleaning away empty plates etc Play area is very strict unlike other brewers we've been to in the past. Couldn't order food in the play area at 4.50pm to eat there apparently had to eat in the bar area instead. (Didn't really understand why The window in play area was letting draft in. Unsure of where from. Kinda looked abit dodgy with some tape on the seal area. Plus the toilets are horrendous. Filthy with dust on everything. No lock on toilet door/ hole in the door where the lock should be. Wooden panel on the floor that's ment for the understand sink area.. Overall very dingy looking. Toilet facilities are very important and the standards of cleaning here is very unacceptable. It makes me question what the kitchen/ cooking facilities, fridges are like.
