L'escale - Barneville-Carteret

On the first look it does not look like a restaurant, but as soon as they go up the stairs, they will find a beautiful place with a light, walking atmosphere. the personal (mostly young people) was very friendly and attentive. eating was good, we had the croque monsieur, small hamburgers,...nachos and tapanade. all tasted excellent. they also had cocktails, I had the Amaretto time that was beautiful. I would recommend this place.

From the outside this little jewel of an orte does not look much. it seems to be over some harbour offices and does not look too inviting. in which we first walked around looking for somewhere to eat later in the evening, we did not. even have to look at it! it was not until my man went for a pre-dinner beer that he tried, liked it and we went back the next day and really enjoyed it. ignore the stairs below and go to the stairs to a beautiful terrace with an enormous view of the beach. in front of the house Canadian lady is so warm and welcoming. a large selection of cocktails and happy hour from to are in the relaxed ambiente. the tapas menu is great and eating is freshly prepared and really delicious. a great sound!

We visited here in the early evening on a Tuesday and spent a very relaxing couple of hours our way through the tapas menu. there is something for everyone; I loved the tartine with goat cheese and honey and the miniburgers were fantastic. The view of the sofas was quiet and watching the fishing boats hurry to home as soon as there was enough water in the channel was a delicious. we were so well looked for without being smeared; extra hot toasts appeared when some of the delicious hot artichoke dips remained and the dip was also thrown away to be warmed up again. there are small touches like these that make eating out of a pleasure and one that we will often repeat after we have found this little jewel.

Visit last month and what a pleasure. the reception of marissa and service with a smile. great cocktails and a great place to relax after the sight of the beach polo near. will be safe again.

Nice bar on top of the quai area. Great tapas, f.e. carpaccio de boeuf served on a stone and with such great taste- you don`t miss any italien ristorante.... Little lack to the bar for me on good rhums, only everybodies darlings, but no aged...Brugals, Barcelos etc.
