Beheshte Barin - Barnet

The restaurant offers delicious food, especially their amazing bread, in a pleasant atmosphere. Be sure to try their bread and various starters. The only drawback is the limited vegetarian options for main courses, but there are plenty of vegetarian starters available.

These guys don’t have a clue ! Awful food, amateur service- this was dinner at the whetstone location, and a terrible waste of money and an evening! It’s tough writing such a negative review, but this is real rubbish.

If you have a reservation at Beheshte Barin, make sure to double check the location as there are multiple branches. We ended up at the one in Whetstone instead of the one near Ballards Lane. Despite it being a public holiday, the restaurant was fairly empty, so kudos to them for staying open. The food was average, with the large platter of mixed kebabs being too much for the three of us to finish. The kebabs were a bit dry for my liking, leaning more towards the Iranian style rather than the juicier Turkish kebabs that I prefer. Service was hit or miss.

One star is too many. Food does not compare to shah abbas or any other local Persian restaurants in Finchley Hendon. Even though the food was subpar, we decided to be nice and pay service charge, however we did not expect to be overcharged £10. When pointed out on original receipt the waiter went to the till and returned with a higher bill and items that we did not eat or order. He then proceeded to scrunch up the original receipt and went to pocket it laughing at us ignoring everything we had been saying. It took being on the phone to the police infront of them, to get them to refund the £10 they had overcharged. They were still hesitant to refund us. Thank goodness we managed to rescue the scrunched up receipt. The attitude of this waiter dealing with this was completely disrespectful and dismissive and when we raised the issue with other staff members they were all confused as to what and why this was happening. They kept saying ‘it’s just a mistake’ which it is but not ours- it was theirs.

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. The grill was top-notch and the staff was fantastic. The food quality was outstanding. We can't wait to go back in January.
