Delfino - BARLASSINA

My wife and I stopped by en route from Zurich to Milan we left the motorway to find something 'off the beaten track ' and came across Delfino in a really unprepossessing area, an ordinary neighbourhood with a distinctly ordinary looking restaurant. But what a treat! We had spaghetti vongole and calamari fritti to start both among the acid tests of an Italian restaurant 's qualities and both quite excellent here, as good as any we 've ever had. To follow we had sea bream cooked with artichoke, olives and potatoes again outstanding. We had coffee and tiramisu to follow... what a feast. And great value. We plan to visit again in August and, on this occasion, we 'll be going out of our way.

The restaurant is in Barlassina, a little town in the province of Monza Brianza. It's a family-run restaurant and its specialties are italian pizza and fish. As regards the menu, there's a huge variety of choices, both concerning the pizzas and the fish. Normally, there's a fixed menu, but it can change on important occasions like, for example, Christmas and Easter. The restaurant is quite easy to reach, there's also a carpark, which makes it really convenient. The place itself has a really welcoming and warm atmosphere, there are always many people and for this reason, sometimes it can become very noisy. Moreover, during the weekend, it's always necessary to book. The price is not so high, it's suitable to the food served. Concerning the service, it is very fast and helpful. The waiters are really polite. Naturally, the food is delicious: the fish is always fresh and has a very delicate taste. The pizzas too, are really tasty and the portions are abundant. Because of the good atmosphere and the quality of the food, the restaurant is popular and you can always find young people, families, and also old couples. Finally, I've been there several times and it always satisfied me!

The best pasta that I've ever eaten in Italy, very good Italian food, the service was very good, and the price was fair. strongly recommended.

It was a little, that I missed from the restaurant the dolphin, as I remembered that it is always very good and the portions are abundant. I have sea salad, spaghetti with clams and a dessert. I'll definitely come back, I recommend it!
