The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was charming. It strikes a perfect balance between upscale and comfortably casual. I highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely dinner. We visited years ago (perhaps under different ownership?), and it's significantly improved since then.

As for the Tavern, it has a warm and inviting atmosphere and is bustling every night, which speaks to its popularity. I tried the wings, and while it's tough to rate them, I can confidently say that they rank among the top five I've ever had—I've had plenty of wings over the years! On busy nights, parking can be a bit tricky for Inn guests. I chose to wait for a spot rather than leave my car on the street overnight, but at other times, parking is usually plentiful. It's not a significant hassle, but it's something to keep in mind.

The Royal Coachman Tavern is located within the Riverton Inn in the lovely village of Riverton, situated in northwest Connecticut. We've always had excellent meals here, and it’s a beloved spot among locals, so be sure to make reservations, especially on weekends. The chicken wings are particularly impressive—crispy, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Our favorite flavor is the Old Bay and butter, which was a special one night, but now we order it every time. The garlic and Parmesan wings are also a hit. The burgers are fantastic, and they offer generous salads, French onion soup, and more upscale options like steaks and seafood, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Make sure to add this place to your list and consider taking a stroll around the charming village before or after your meal.
