Pat's Place - Bardstown

This restaurant is a must-visit. We both tried the Western omelette and the banana nut French toast. The flavors were so good, I couldn't stop eating until I practically fell to the floor.

I decided to try this restaurant on a whim while I was in the area for work. I was looking for a good "home cooked breakfast" experience. You can seat yourself at this restaurant, but the server seemed unenthusiastic when taking my order. I ordered some of my favorite dishes: French toast, sausage, and fried potatoes. Unfortunately, when my food arrived, I was disappointed. The taste was not what I expected at all. The potatoes were lukewarm, lacked flavor, and strangely made my mouth dry. The French toast was soggy and bland, while the sausage was just odd. I really hope that this was just an off day for the restaurant because my experience did not match the reviews. I have attached a picture of everything that was left on my plate.

Not my favorite breakfast. On our first day in town and had seen this restaurant on our way in the day before. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. We went somewhere else the next day.

Walked in, sat at table that was bussed but not cleaned. Waitress was attentive and cleaned table for us promptly, drinks were ordered and brought, food was ordered and from there it went down hill. 45 minutes later I gave a confusing look to a worker and was told that they were short staff in the kitchen and our food was coming up. Our breakfast came up and I've never seen eggs look so bad, it looked like some one cut all the white off and left just the yolk. I tasted the potato's and cold, wife's French toast cold. informed a waitress and received no apologies. Informed owner that we were leaving and all she said was they're short staffed and proceeded to yell in the kitchen to cancel order. I get places are short staffed, but short staffed is no excuse to serve food at a unsafe temperature and sub par quality.

Small family-run restaurant. The food is tasty and the service is decent. We visited for lunch a few times and enjoyed everything we tried. Nothing fancy, just good, simple food.
