My wife sat down at one of the chairs while I went to the bar to get some drinks and there was a man standing at the front smoking a cigarette who then came up to my wife and started hitting on her. We later found out he was the owner of the bar. Later I went up to pay for the drinks and the same man served me, I gave him $20euro and needed $10euro back, and he said he didn’t have change so he asked his colleague to get change from another store and while we waited for our change he was staring at me making me feel uncomfortable. The lady came back after 5 min and came back saying she couldn’t find change. The owner then started to fluff around and said he would find change, but it was clear they were trying to buy tim so that we got impatient and left, but we waited. I’ve read of this scam before where people in Spain make you wait uncomfortably for change expecting you will say ‘don’t worry about th change’ and walk off. I laughed when he eventually gave me the change and said but what about the coins on the table your colleague was just counting (they had a bucket of change in a cup they were counting so obviously had the change!! the owner then tried to make it as if he wanted to give me a note which was ‘better’ than coins. All I can say is this place is dodgy. AVOID!!! The sangrias were also really diluted and tasted cheap. Ps the owner was also smoking out the front right in front of our table the whole time we were seated and the cigarette smoke was blowing into us. Very rude man. He was also checking out every girl that walked past. Avoid!!! There are so many better places to go!
A nice little place to sit down for a while and have a cold beer. Good atmosphere and friendly stuff.
After a full day of sightseeing we visited 58 Degrees Sud as it was very close to our hotel and too tired to venture far. The guy in charge was very welcoming and friendly and spoke excellent English. We ordered beef bourguignon but after 5 minutes of taking our order we were advised that there was none left so we reordered choosing a club sandwich instead. Then after 10 minutes we were advised they did have the beef and did we still want this as our dinner so we said yes. A few minutes later our meal arrived the beef was nice, tasty and well cooked though I was a bit perplexed to have been served lettuce and tomatoes with the meat. Seemed a bit of a thrown together combination. Overall it was a pleasant experience though why they had to have such low seating in the restaurant is also a puzzle.
Nice place on corner beside H10 Art Gallery Hotel America and others. With no Breakfast booked at hotel this place was ideal for a bit of breakfast/ brunch with seats outside in Sun or inside. Philip is an excellent host who we found very friendly and accommodating. Prices were reasonable. Continental type breakfast including crossaint baguettes OJ tea/coffee or club sambos were perfect to start the day. Thanks Philip see u again.
Whilst on our honeymoon in Barcelona we found this amazing little place. Such a great atmosphere and the service is fantastic. We found a wine we liked and as it was running out the owner held them back. We popped in here each night for a drink before going out to dinner. Really comfortable outdoor seating, we could have sat there for hours to watch the world go by. A rare gem in a big city.
