El Portillo - Barbastro

What a pleasant surprise! The restaurant has a lovely ambience, and the waiter was very welcoming and friendly. I went for the tasting menu, which was beautifully presented, and showed a great range of flavors and technique. The Sommos wine which accompanied the meal was fantasic, and gave a real sense of the Somontano and its character. This was by far the best restaurant I ate in Barbastro, and would recommend it as a first choice if staying in the town. One more point, only €30 for a quality tasting menu! Fantastic value and superb, attentive service.

We had the set evening menu at €25 per person, we had a cured Tuna salad, then you get a shellfish crab salad, followed by the most divine lamb in a plum sauce. Desert was equally as lovely, and coffee also. Wine was included in the price, but we had the €2 per head supplement wine, and the wine was lovely. The waiter explained each course, albeit in Spanish, but we got the gist of what he was saying. There was a young waitress who spoke good english too. Service was incredible, and had they had a different menu for the next evening we would have eaten there again. It was that good! We will go back. Thanks

I have now been to this restaurant 3 times and had the set menu . It has been excellent each time. Tasty, robust food . The set menu changes weekly I think but includes wine management of restaurant is linked to the bodega Sommos . I really fail to understand its relatively low position in Barbastro listings considering the quality of the food. On latest visit : Pre meal shellfish crab ? bisque, starter pancakes stuffed with fish/shellfish. Main course pork shoulder confit Dessert choc brownies with redcurrant sauce Wine, water and bread 15 euros ! Bargain !!

Hemos estado dos días y muy bien La habitación muy amplia y con terraza, Lo mejor la cama, super grande y cómoda

Solamente hemos ido al restaurante a comer, pero quiero destacar la atención de Tarik y de Júlia. Mucha educación, amables, servicio de 10 y rápido, elegancia, todo muy respetuoso, te ponen el pan, te sirven el agua y el vino, muy atentos si necesitas algo, si te sobra algo de la mesa para retirar. Hemos pedido pollo al horno, lubina, ensaladilla, revuelto de espárragos (fotos) estaba todo de diez la verdad, pero la locura ha sido el postre, pudding de chocolate, increíble textura, sabor y presentación y todo esto por un menú de 23,00€, en fin, somos de Barcelona, pero si paso por aquí ya se donde comer. Hay aparcamiento a unos 5’ a pie, porque la calle en sí está en un plaza y es peatonal. El sitio aparte de todo es súper bonito, elegante y tiene armonía. Las mesas están preparadas y preciosas.
