Contribuiți la feedbackWhilst visiting Brescia for the Mille Miglia car race, my brother and I found ourselves in a hotel (OneMHotel in San Paolo, subject of another review on an industrial estate about 30km south of Brescia. The hotel staff recommended Restaurant Gaudio, about 2km away. It was not easy to find, being hidden behind a somewhat unwelcoming grey facade. But we were very pleased we persevered! We were welcomed by the Chef (Diego and the waiter (Giambattista . The latter turned out to be also the patron of the restaurant, and the chef 's brother! We may have been the first English speaking people to come to this restaurant, but they had a decent English translation of the menu and helped us a lot. In addition to the starter, main course (secondi and dessert, they gave us two amuse bouches and a large platter of sweets to go along with coffee at the end. So much food! But such good quality! I had a tuna tartare to start (dressed simply with probably the best olive oil I have ever tasted ; my brother had quail, with its fried eggs and fois gras. Both starters were well proportioned and very good indeed. The main courses of Milanese veal steak with truffle sauce (including large truffle slices! and lamb cooked three ways were equally good. The lamb burger was the highlight for me. Giambattista also gave us a sparkling wine as an aperitif (free! and helped us choose a very nice red wine by the glass to go with the food. We chose the better of the options he suggested for the wines without knowing the price. Hey you only live once! And at the end we had drunk half the bottle and they charged us 20 Euros! Bargain! We also had a nice dessert wine (again free! to go with two amazing desserts. We were there for more than three hours, had a great time, great food, and the end price was really reasonable. We may go back there tomorrow night! Thoroughly recommended.

Hard to judge the GAUDIO... To begin with reductive are the five stars for food and service (there would be at least double!!! , paradise on earth in a constant coconut... Continuing the two brothers conquer not only for the deep knowledge of matter, but they make you the devotion tangible to the art of good welcome, good food and good drink! Try to try again and why not, try again, try again.
