Royal Indian - Bar Harbor

We had Fish Curry, Chicken Mo:MO: Dal soup and garlic naan. Everything was super delicious. We definitely recommend them for dinner. Staff was awesome and helpful too. Services was excellent as well.

This is a nice place with good food. Some reviews I felt were bit harsh. Honestly, if you are looking for typical heavy,rich Indian curries and gravies that are usually artery clogging) then it's NOT the place for you. If you want Indian food, somewhat homely, that won't clog your arteries while traveling then sure this is the place to go. The food was well cooked in perfect amount of spices and oils. Something that you could eat frequently for the duration of your stay while in Bar Harbor especially being a vegetarian. Service is awesome. Food was awesome too for the perspective that I provided above. Portion size could definitely be improved a bit. Tea masala chai) was great and so was the Naan. Highly recommend the jackfruit curry. Chicken curry and paneer masala curry was great too. Not too heavy and still tasty like homemade. Chana masala could need some improvements, doesn't need to be cooked with too much oils but could be made a bit tangy. Overall a great experience, dined here 2 nights for a good vegetarian Indian food. Service is great. Highly recommend for vegetarians.

We are SO glad we looked down this side street and stopped for dinner at Royal Indian. Everything was fabulous. We got the vegetable appetizer and also garlic cheese Naan which both had our mouth watering. I ordered chicken Tikka as pictured and my husband ordered lamb curry. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. We sat on the patio under the heat lamps and it was really lovely. The family who owns this place is very friendly and sweet. Definitely a must stop for lunch or dinner while you're walking around Bar Harbor.

Probably the nicest people I’ve experienced in a long time at a restaurant, this is compounded by great food and good prices. We sat outdoors and I ordered the jackfruit curry which is special to this place. It seems a rare find on indian menus and it was super good.

My husband, two year old daughter, and I ate there a couple days ago. We appreciate how they ask if you want it mild, medium, or hot. The vegetable pakora was so good that my daughter was all over them. I loved the jackfruit curry and roti too.
