La Porchetta - Banyule

Been coming here for about 12 Months, with my 4 kids and friends. The pizza is fabulous and the best in the Northern suburbs, pasta is also amazing, never leave disappointed!

This restaurant is always good to grab an unexpected dinner out as there is always plenty of room at 6pm.The service is quick and the food plentiful.I had the garlic prawns on rice with vegetables,the prawns were fresh and very nice served on a skewer but the sauce smothered all over the rice was a shame as it was rather rich but very tasty,a little less sauce on the prawns would have been better.My partner had the steak which was huge,it was well cooked to his liking with a salad,not the best steak he's ever had but for the money good value.

Pull up a chair... time for tale....years ago La Porchetta's in Greensborough was a place where getting a seat was a challenge... the lasagna and anything with their "special" sauce was a delight for a cheap price... my children... before they became fussy and connoisseurs .. loved this venue...it was a great venue for simple child friendly fare.... then they sold it... and we returned for a second try.... with a group of teenagers... the service was fine.. the owners friendly... but the basic requirements of a well cooked sauce ( simmered and be=rewed for hours for that caramelized goodness) seemed to be have overlooked... guys you have one job... the sauce is it.. we walked in on Friday night and it was 25% full.... owners... fix your sauces and the crowds will return...

La Porchetta Greensborough SHAME.Three chances on the off chance they where having an OFF night. No they are dedicated to serving SLOP. I can't believe they think it's ok. The only answer for this must be 1 the owner lives in India and doesn't know what's being served. 2 they are using the good name of previous owners and don't realize it's hard work to maintain a reputable Buisness. 3 JUST DONT CARE

Visited La Porchetta for a late lunch around 2.30pm. When we walked in the place was empty and all the staff were sitting around having lunch. We were told we could sit where we wanted. the menus were brought to us and the waitress went back to sit down. From here we knew that the experience wasn't going to be great. About 10 minutes later she came back and took our order. that was the last we saw of our waitress. The food was brought out all together mains just before entrees. not once did someone come to see if we needed anything or ask if everything was ok. our table stayed with empty plates for ages to a point we didn't even get dessert as no one came back to us. when we went to pay we mentioned how bad the service was and the gentleman that took our payment said he knew it was bad but he was only the pizza maker and couldn't do any thing about it. all the while we were there the waitresses were sitting on their phones and chatting and eating. an absolutely disgraceful service will never go back.
