Cafe Saffron - Banyule

Had dinner tonight....disgusting carpet smell as soon as u enter....someone had organised a party there...the music was that loud i had to leave the place...no decorations ..freezing....felt like i was having dinner in a shed....disgusting...will never go again.....ive been to so many indian resturants....worst ever....embarrassed...coz we organised a friends dinner

Despite these issues, we found the food to be the highlight of the evening. We enjoyed dishes such as butter chicken, chicken korma, lamb korma, lamb rogan josh, coconut chicken, prawn massarla, and rice. The flavors were rich and delicious. However, the subpar service and poor condition of the restaurant will prevent us from returning in the future.

We almost left as soon as we get here. (whoever I have done before) the place was really dirty. they had a function below, so we were shown on some very steep steps (with my 76 year old elders) and waited for...20 minutes on a crippled water and no menu. I went to the toilet and there was a baby that was eaten with feen on the floor. (from the night before when no one was there) the floors were dirty and I am surprised that this place was not switched off. we left when I couldn't get to eat here.

In this restaurant sat on recommendation of a friend. was pleasantly surprised. it was nicely decorated. the food was authentic. we ordered the banquet. each curry was a tasty bite.

The restaurant appeared nice in pictures, but in reality, it seemed like they were drawn. The seats were ripped, the wallpaper was peeling, and despite my initial excitement, the food was not good. The steak we ordered was tough and lacked flavor. When we mentioned this to the waiter, they offered no apologies. The butter served with the bread looked like dice and did not taste good. Overall, this place was a disappointment and I would not recommend it. It's a shame because I have heard good things about their other location in Ivanhoe, but this one was a letdown.
