Bellakai - Banora Point

Coming from inner city Melbourne it's so hard to find a restaurant that has great food, great staff - thank you Lauren - and great ambience! I have been bringing my Mum here for over 5 years and it consistently delivers! Great selection of wine, sit inside or out it's such a fab place for a great night out. I will be back for another wonderful seafood platter & affogato!!

Haven't been here for years but tonight was by far the best meal I've ever had at this restaurant. They were extremely quiet which we didn't mind at all. I looked up the menu online before deciding to eat here. However, the menu online was completely different. This is usually a turn off for me but the entrees were outstanding, we had the prawn dumplings and spring rolls. The mains were served piping hot and both my husband and I were very impressed with our choices. He had the lamb shank and I had the barramundi. I was certainly full and satisfied by the delicious flavour. We finished off with an expresso martini and a toblerone. Definitely one of the best meals we've had in a while.

Sorry, don't agree with some of the TripAdvisor comments that the food is great. We found it overpriced and average. The service was friendly enough and the surroundings are OK, but would not rush back.

Breakfast or dinner or just stopping for a coffee Bellakai's staff were very friendly and attentive. The bacon and eggs were cooked to perfection and the lamb shanks, accompanoed by sweet potato mash, melted in your mouth.

Bellaki is my favourite restaurant in Coolangatta. They do a fabulous breakfast but the lunch and dinner menu is a stand out. This visit was lunch for my sons 15th birthday. Service was, as always, superb, view of the beach perfect and the food mouth wateringly good.! I had the signature fish of the day, which was barramundi, in red curry sauce - fish was perfectly cooked, sauce was fragrant, spicy but did not overpower the fish. I loved it! Kids had the salt and pepper calamari, spaghetti bolognese with a tasty ragu style sauce and dessert. Hubby and I washed our delicious mains down with a delicious French rose from their excellent wine list. Bellaki is just the right mix of a Gold Coast casual dining atmosphere and five star food. I will be back for another fab food experience as soon as I can.
