Contribuiți la feedbackI have been to this place several times in the last few years, while the name of the restaurant was still great century. now it is called the tang, located in greenfield pde, bankstown next to the parking lot and opposite bankstown sports. that. Ground floor dining room is simply furnished with 15 tables, a mixture of small and large. the second stage has now been used as karaoke room. as it was the Chinese New Year, so they installed a few red laternen to mark the occasion. the majority of the waiter was not too attentive and helpful. if they decide to order more courts after having placed their first job, they simply forget it because they will be reluctant to do that! very strange because they are the ones who lose the opportunity to win more money. according to the information of the kassierer, the cook is still the same, but compared to our last visit in this restaurant, eating was not so good now. the sauce of the crab was not well balanced, not so thick and was acidic as usual. instead of getting a Singapic sauce, it tasted more like a sweet and sour sauce. the chowmein was okay, but a little clear. only the Wasabi-Rind and tofu with brokkoli were still tasty. when I looked at the other tables, they seemed to enjoy much more than we, so maybe they knew better to order what dishes? but regardless of if there is another Chinese restaurant that offers more tasty food choices, then most likely this first day of the year of the dog would be my last visit to this place.
We were also shocked to see that the Peking duck was priced at $49.5 instead of $29.5. When we questioned the waitress about the discrepancy, she explained that they could only offer one special price. However, this was not communicated to us beforehand. We felt very disappointed by the restaurant's lack of transparency and felt like we were being taken advantage of. It was definitely not a pleasant dining experience.
When we went there, we were shed in the upper floor, although there seemed to be places down there, it was as if they were second class and the last of the Yams Cha was sent up when the below were their selection taken and that was quite eating. very cold. noticeable that even few aseres were above.
When we asked if we could order the Peking duck instead, we were informed that the special price for the crab we originally wanted did not apply to other items. Our food took almost 45 minutes to arrive, and when it did, the lukewarm crab was just mediocre. To make matters worse, the tofu bowl we ordered was overly salty and overpriced. Overall, the customer service was lacking, and we felt uneasy about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. We definitely will not be returning.
We Yum Cha regularly at many restaurants and the Great century is one of the best in Sydney. Their dishes are flavoursome and fresh and at very reasonable prices. The staff are wonderful, professional and friendly. They have 2 levels which means you don't have...to wait long for a table.Well worth a visit.
