There are two rooms divided by a central bar, and we chose the left room for its quirky decor, including a 3D picture of James Dean. Unfortunately, they were out of ginger beer and seemed low on soft drinks. A Fentiman's Victorian Lemonade cost £2.50, the highest price I've seen for it in a pub. The service was average, with nothing particularly good or bad standing out. We did notice Tesco's ketchup and brown sauce on the tables, which was a bit cheeky. The Belle Vue was good for a quick drink, but I'm not sure how it would hold up for a longer visit.
If you need WIFI stay close to the windows (Streetside . It is a real Britisch Pub for Bangor student. There is a lot to do for them! Quiz night on sunday (loud music and no way you can have any conversation of any meaning. , a fake Christmas a month before X mas. Pizza and one drink for £5, witch is very cheap and looks very well! Then you have, loots of tea, beer and other drinks, like any other pub. It is a good atmosphere, none of the tabels are the same, their many different chairs, some are litte broken, but that doesn't matter. Even if it is quit, it is a warm place to stay. They serving their food on marble plates, like the ones you can see in the Flintstones : It is a shame we could eat there: except of the chips, everything is made with gluten and dairy: pasta, pizza, burgers.
The staff are lovely and it's a good vibe but the food was terrible. I ordered the mac and cheese and the sauce was just melted mozzarella, there was no seasoning and it was dry as hell. It was also expensive for the portion sizes. My side of chips was larger than my portion of Mac and cheese. The chips were alright but they use own brand ketchup. I'm pretty sure the desserts were microwaved and they were only just warm by the time they reached our table. Overall, it's a good place to sit and drink but I would not recommend eating here at all.
American tourists in Wales. This restaurant was convenient and very comfortable. We dined here twice during our visit.
This charming old-fashioned pub in Upper Bangor offers two distinct atmospheres depending on which door you choose. If you prefer cozy seats, patterned carpet, and a relaxed vibe with a cup of coffee or pint, head to the left. For a more lively experience with bare wooden floors, hard chairs, and entertainment like football on TV and pool tables, head to the right. Whether you're looking for a casual hangout or a raucous night out, this pub has something for everyone. Just don't expect a sleek, modern setting. On a Saturday night, choose the right door, order some peanuts and drinks, and enjoy the lively atmosphere. For a more relaxed Sunday morning, opt for the left door, grab a newspaper, and savor a cup of coffee to recover from the previous night's festivities.
