My hotel is around the corner from Kusuma and one of our party is Muslim, so we were looking for a halal restaurant for dinner. We could barely even find it even using Google maps as it is down an unassuming side road. This is the best and most flavorful table of food I have eaten in my life. This is not an exaggeration. The Tom Yum seafood soup is unlike anything i have ever tasted, with fresh prawn and squid. I picked a Chevron Barracuda from the available fish caught the same day, and the chef cooked it for me 2 ways, half panko coating with garlic and herb and half bbq. It was the best fish I have ever eaten. Crab was perfectly cooked and had a Malay flavour profile which was amazing. I cannot recommend this small street restaurant highly enough. There is no air con, or fancy chairs, but this could be the best restaurant in Thailand and I wouldn't want you to miss out. 4 people with 8 drinks and all this food came to 1410 baht. Wow wow wow.
Friendly owner and staff, great halal thai malay food in phuket. Recommendedby tv3 (malaysia)
1)Halal 2)Can speak BM 3)Tasty food and beverages. 4)Price reasonable with quality. Ordered 2x plain rice,1 tomyam seafood,1 vegetable fried ,1 pepper sea salt prawn , tempura squid(not tasty) , 1 lobster. All tasted good except the squid.Maybe you should try different option for the squids .Thai milk tea and coconut shake tasted good. Q1)Will come again? A1)Yes definitely. Q2)Fully loaded tummy? A2)Yes. Q3)Got sicked? A3)No. Q4)Happy? A4)Yes. Q5)Plenty of space to sit A5)No and if rainy ,bring poncho and cover up your tomyam and yourself because this restaurant is at an alleyway. Q6)Insects flying around? A6)Well yeah alot of insects that love to circle around lights fixtures.I don't know what it is called but its nothing because food is tasty so you'll forget about those insects anyway.
Had tomyum, rice, thai omelette and mango sticky rice for takeaway. The flavor of the tomyum was alright but the seafood especially the squid was not fresh at all (prawn was acceptable). Thai omelette and mango sticky rice were quite nice. Price might be higher for a street stall but the portions were generous.
Good halal place. The food is tasty and the location eventhough not child friendly and is placed in an alley is very clean. Price wise it's fair for what you get.
