Kabul House - Balwyn North

Traditional and very good Persian food. Really loved the Qabuli Palao, Sekh and lamb skewers. All home-made!

My family and I went to Persian House for dinner, and the restaurant was empty as expected due to the current situation. We ordered chicken curry, fesengan, and cauliflower curry as our main dishes along with rice and Persian Zarda Pallow. Both the plain rice and Persian rice were cooked well and had a nice soft texture, with the Persian rice being particularly flavorful. The chicken curry and cauliflower curry were tasty but could have been spicier, especially since the chicken curry mentioned chili as an ingredient. However, considering my past experiences with Persian food, I found the level of spice to be acceptable and still enjoyed the curries. The fesengan had a fruity and tangy taste from the pomegranate, resembling authentic Persian curries I've had before. For dessert, we tried the ferni, a Persian pudding with a sweet rose water flavor and interesting texture that took some getting used to. Overall, the food was good and the service was satisfactory, though I had expected faster service since we were the only customers.

I've been here several times and have enjoyed both the food and the service each time. They have food that suits the vegetarian and the meat loving members of our family. In particular, the eggplant dish is excellent and even had my eggplant-hating teenage son asking for seconds!

Persian House, a restaurant operated by a passionate couple who deeply value their customers, offers fresh, delicate flavors that are expertly balanced.
