Cholita's Tacos - Baltimore

The first time I went to this spot I was so elated by the aroma, I knew I would return soon!! I did!! I’m glad!! @cholitastacosinc is located at, my now frequented, Mt. Vernon Marketplace 520 Park Ave, Baltimore Maryland. So this spot has...you guessed it...TACOS!! To start you can get their Elotes (tender corn topped with Mayo, chili piquiri, queso fresco, and cilantro $3.50), or their Cholitas Nachos (pictured-Crisp nachos topped with black beans, pico de gallo, jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole and your choice of protein $8-$11 depending upon the protein). The nachos were crisp, and flavor packed. Each bite had a zing to it, followed by the creaminess of the cheese. I snatched up their Camarones Taco platter (pictured-marinated shrimp, topped with cabbage salad, pico de gallo, and chipotle salsa on flour tortillas $14) for my entree. The tacos are made to order, sooo...that made them even more delectable. The cabbage is what fused the taco together...the burst of flavors worked!! All taco platters are $14 bucks, their burritos are $11, and quesadillas are $12. They have Torta’s (sandwiches) at $13 too. Their customer service was so pleasurable that it diligently rounded out this whole experience. Parking is so so... it’s metered. I RETURNED to this spot y’all...that speaks volumes. That’s it. Just look at this gorgeous strawberry lime margarita! How it shines I simply adore coming here; such excellent service and great value. It's totally worth the trip. BTW the Mojito is better.

Portion sizes were ridiculous, Nachos alone could feed 2-3 people. Burrito fell apart quickly, but was dense.

Baltimore is definitely not your taco emporium city like what you would get out west, but things are looking better over the last year or so. Cholitas is part of that wave of new taco shops starting to pop up around the city. Definitely over priced for what you get, taco wise, but they are tasty. But I guess if the hipster trendy folks keep paying for it, then why not. I would recommend Cholitas for a fairly authenic take on Mexican tacos in a funky/trendy neighborhood food market/eatery mall.

5 stars for the carnitas tacos! Would definitely return for them! I also tried the chorizo which is normally my go to but wouldn’t get again sadly. Very juicy but the texture wasn’t for me.
