Villago Pizzeria - Ballston Lake

I recently made a visit to this restaurant (I used to be a regular several years ago), and I must say that both the food and the service from the waitress were outstanding. The view was fantastic too! Unfortunately, I learned that the restaurant has been sold and will be closing on July 11th. It's a great location, and I really hope it continues to operate as a restaurant.

If you're okay with waiting two hours for your meal, then this is the place for you. I've gone through this experience twice at Villago.

This popular location on Ballston Lake is a great spot for enjoying sunsets. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, although it seems that reservations cannot be made for the outdoor area. The indoor space has plenty of seating and a bar with TVs. The food is above average; for about $50, we had a large pizza, two appetizers, and two non-alcoholic drinks. The service was a bit slow, but they were quite busy at the time. The staff was kind and professional. There is ample parking available. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

I was disappointed with this experience. I ordered the halibut, which was very bland. The margarita was bland too. I wanted the great sangria they used to have. Not anymore. Our server was pleasant, but inexperienced. She didn't ask if we wanted a salad or soup, she didn't ask if I wanted salt on the rim of my margarita. She obviously hasn't been trained well. In all, the view is as beautiful as ever, but the food was disappointing.

Once seated, we waited another hour for our food, only to find that several dishes we ordered were forgotten. Even though we had waited so long, the food that eventually arrived was lukewarm. To make matters worse, our soup was dropped on the floor and was never replaced, and when we addressed this with the manager, he refused to remove the soup we never received from our bill. We overheard the table next to us complaining about their three-hour wait for food, so we certainly weren't the only ones unhappy with the service. The atmosphere was filled with discontented diners. On top of all this, the food was mediocre and overpriced. It's such a shame, because the location is great, but the service truly ruins the experience.
