Zagames - BALLARAT CENTRAL

We were recommended Zagame's as a family restaurant and we were not disappointed.

Zagame's is a standard family restaurantIt's always busyIt's always very noisyIts service can be average or appallingly slow.

Decided to check out new restaurant and playroom before taking our children there. Left after 5 minutes looking at a poorly set out bistro area and already broken equirement in play area.. Not one staff member aoproached us to see uf we wanted a table! Food we saw on tables looked very poor quality. Quivk glance at menu showed very high prices for basic bistro/pub food. Extremely noisy! Sorry but this appears to have been a downgrading of what was there previously with prices raised to pay for it.Wouldn't bother going there! Cheaper and better food elsewhere

While the outside of the development doesn't appear to fit in with the existing building, once you go inside you are in for a pleasant surprise as it has been nicely decorated and fitted out: I particularly liked the lampshades and tiles in the ladies' loo. The system for being seated and ordering works well and we were served quickly. But I was particularly pleased with the wide choice of meals available, from the standard pub grub to more high end cuisine. My fish with coconut rice was delicious. So while the venue is clearly designed to suit families, there is plenty to please discriminating diners as well.

We visited the newly refurbished Zagames on a Friday night with our 2 kids (4 years old) ad found the venue to be better set out than previously. We where greeted at the door and taken to our table. (bookings are recommended) the atmosphere was very friendly with a number families already dining, the waitress pointed out where to order and the location of the toilets on the way to our table which was very helpful. The service was fantastic and extremely fast, I ordered our meals, then went to the bar to get our drinks, by the time I got back to the table our kids meals were already on the table. Within minutes our other meals were brought out as well. My wife had the chicken parma and I had the steak, my steak was cooked to my liking and was very tasty, I added on the onion rings and they where great, very crispy like the chips with lots of flavour. My wife enjoyed the parma and my kids loved the bolognese. The new kids play room is amazing with a large climbing fort and some electronic arcade games (extra cost for arcade games) and there was also a face painter in the kids play room on the night we visited which was great. I will definitely visit again as the service was fantastic and the food was great.
