Great Western Ballan

This was the nicest pub meal we have had in a very long time, it was definitely restaurant quality. My husband had the gnocchi which he said was excellent. I had the veal scallopine with saffron risotto it was beautiful. The music that was playing was pleasant and songs that most generations would recognise and appreciate. This is by miles the best meal I've ever had at any establishment, Do not go elsewhere. It will be your loss. Great service, this hotel is a hidden gem. I paid $47 for my steak and it was worth more, seriously I would've paid a hungy it was to die for, compliments to the Michelin star chef. 100% 10 out of 10. You don't expect a quaint pub in the middle of a country town. The staff were absolutely amazing 10/10 The decor amazing really was fantastic. And I love a place that offers sparkling water from the beginning. The food on the otherhand was dissapointing. We ordered the garlic prawn clay pot. (Prawns tasted like they were from Coles. And when your paying $26 for 7 Prawns you want them not to be fully peeled or and from coles. The croquettes had little flavour and a heavy tangy Mayo on the bottom . The spaghetti marinara once again it tasted ad looked like a coles seafood mix and a scollap was not fresh and on the turn. I left half my seafood after that. My partner ordered the veal scollapini. It was bizzare. Was oozing way too much space which killed the flavour of the veal. Maybe we ordered all the wrong dishes but we are happy to go back and try again.
