We had two complaints re the service: The buffet is not very child friendly - we had a 2 year old and a 10 year old with us and they barely ate anything... even from the deserts! There was a lot of seafood dishes. We opted to order a birthday cake for my daughter which was brought out by the staff and Mickey Mouse himself - We had a couple of slices and ate some of the accompanying sweets and asked the staff if we could have the remainder (about 3 quarters) to take away with us. We were promptly told it was forbidden to take it away from the restaurant despite paying £30 for it. We had to leave it on the table - completely ruined out trip to the restaurant to be honest. All in all our visit to this restaurant cost over £300 for 3 adults, a 10 year old and a 2 year old...
After enjoying our meals at Inventions during our stay last year, we were keen to return during our 2017 trip and were not disappointed. I pre-booked our table several weeks before visiting Disneyland Paris to ensure availability with it being school summer holidays across several coutries including France and Spain as well as the UK. Once again the buffet selection was excellent and constantly replenished. Character interaction was excellent, with each character taking their time at each table, signing autographs and willingly posing for photographs. During our meal this year we met Mickey, Pluto, Tigger, Pinnochio, Geppetto and Eeyore. Aside from a great buffet, I would recommend Inventions to anyone looking for a way to avoid hours of queuing in the parks to meet characters. Next time I am definitely going to try and book inventions Brunch - this takes place on a Sunday Lunch time and has a theme, often resulting in an opportunity to meet rarer characters.
Do not think for a second you are heading for Haute Cuisine here. It is a good buffet, being that it is varied, but that is just it. Food is so so, and for the price you could get Haute Cuisine - in Paris - not in Marne La Valée, I am sorry to say. I have eaten here three times, and by far the best experience was when I ordered a birthday cake. Great interaction, the best location possible, trully unique... for only 29 euros extra (nothing really, considering the value for a family). Go for it!
We booked the lunchtime buffet but the only time we could get was 2.15pm. We were assured when we booked that the characters would be there until 3pm so we'd have time to meet them all. By the time we were shown to our table it was 2.25pm and it was another 15 minutes before we saw a single character. This meant that by the time the characters came out we only had a very short space of time to meet them in. We saw 7 characters (mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pinnochio, Gepetto and Pluto) in the space of about 10 minutes. It was quite chaotic and the character interaction felt really rushed. Some of them only went to see my 10 year old on one side of the table, ignoring my 18 month old completely. I spoke to the waiting staff and asked if the characters would come back at all so that my other Daughter (who is character mad) could meet them but was told they'd finished their session and wouldn't be back out. The food was good although I don't think the buffet had as much choice than in previous years. The total for our meals and drinks was 185euros which is obviously a massive amount of money and I don't it was justified based on the experience we had. If you are planning to do it I would definitely recommend trying to get an earlier seating time so you can really take time to enjoy the meal, the characters and the beautiful surroundings.
This buffet was amazing! The food quality was outstanding. Not your standard buffet. This was a character Meal and the characters were fantastic and very interactive making my birthday very special. A character Meal is not just for little ones, my teenagers 17/16 loved getting personal time with Mickey. Characters at this Meal included Mickey, Pluto, Eeyore, Mr Smee and Captain Hook. Got lots of pictures but unfortunately they don't have a photographer to take any so most of the time it meant one family member was out of the pic taking them. I got a Birthday cake as a treat which was about €22, they give this to you at the end of your meal but you are not allowed to take it away with you and it has to be cut there, not ideal after you have just stuffed yourself silly on an all you can eat buffet. Pluto came and sang Happy Birthday to me when the cake was presented, children will love this. It was amazing but it was very expensive we used our vouchers face value of about €130 and we also had to pay and extra €240 so yeah pretty expensive .
