When visiting the Mercado Hidalgo Public Market in downton San Luis Potosí try La Pasadita restaurant for brunch or lunch. Their meals are not to be missed, the menu include delicious tacos rojos (enchiladas rojas) with a side of veggies: cooked carrots, potatoes, quesadillas (deep fried tacos filled with mashed potatoes) , flautas (deep fried tacos) with a side of lettuce and fresh sliced tomatoes. All topped with salsa and delicious grated dried Saltierra cheese (cow or goat cheese very similar to feta cheese). Try as a side dish cueritos pickled pig skin with any of these meals. You can also find the saltierra cheese in any of the cremerias (business that sells cheese, cream, chorizo) in the market.
