Hospice De France - Bagnères-de-Luchon

Had the burger with fries and a panini. The burger was very good. Prices are ok. And we had a visit from two donkeys :P This is a great point to start or finish your hike.

Stopped here, for an early Lunch, before taking a Hike up in the mountains above the venue from which a number of different marked trails fan out. The place was already busy, with a good mix of nationalities but the waitress willingly set up a spare table especially for us (family of 5 and service was good. We made the slight error of ordering a 'Garbure ' soup for one son who is vegetarian (the dish contains Ham... but no harm done! In general, the ambience was as you might expect for a Hiking focused establishment, situated at 4,500 Ft no frills, but decent filling food. In a sense, it would be hard not to recommend it since it 's the only restaurant for some distance around, but I certainly don 't think that the staff rest on their laurels. It would also be an interesting location in Winter albeit it was noted that the access road is only open until the end of September (so one assumes, access solely on foot thereafter?

The first day we drank something on the noce terrace with two friendly donkeys but we realized we forgot our wallet in the hotel! No problem at all, the owner told us, come back another day. The next day we had lunch here and it was delicious. What a friendly place.

It's a bit "the place to be" to taste a bit of Haute-Montagne from a high starting point, that you just wanted to make the most of a cossue platform going to the restaurant by car or that you wanted to start from him to the top summits of the Spanish border. Attention, however, it goes from the family hike without too much refusal to enjoy the valley of the Pique and the Glère circus, to the more difficult places of access where it would not be good to be surprised by a climate danger: the choice is yours, but the choice is very wide!

This place is very beautiful and relaxing you can make good walks and rest the breathable happiness
