August - Bad Nenndorf-Riepen

Nice setting in different theme parts of the restaurants belonging to the Schmiedegasthof Hotel.We had a function there with friends and the beef roast included in the dinner was one of the best I had for a long time.Soft, tender, juicy and excellent taste.

Went for a mid-week lunch at this smart restaurant in Riepen, a village near Bad Nenndorf. There are actually 3 restaurants under one roof: 'La Forge' for gourmet dining, 'Schmiede-Restaurant', less grand but still very fine, and 'Esse', where bar meals are served. We arrived without having made a reservation at the 'Schmiede-Restaurant' and we're readily accommodated. First impressions were of strict formality: dining room very carefully laid out and tables set, staff dressed in a manner which reflected local costumes. As other reviewers have commented, the range of dishes on the menu is fairly limited, but this was not a problem for us. All styles of traditional North German fare were covered. For most dishes there is a 'small portion' option, which we all took: it was all very ample. The food itself was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was also superb. If you are visiting Bad Nenndorf it is worth making the effort to get out to this place for something a bit different.

We had booked a nice hotel room at the romantic hotel schmiedegasthaus hrke and then wanted a nice meal with accompanying drinks. there were many in restaurant august and because of the late time we decided to eat villagestube. beautiful menu where we...2 x essepot and 2 x glass cabernet merlot red wine, mineral water and followed 2 x kafee cream. we were pleasantly surprised when eating and drinking came to the table. the eating tasted amazingly with great portions and we ate without living anything for the dog. there was a nice atmosphere at the place with good service from a friendly young man. the calculation was only 52.40 euro. we recommend to all and we are happy to come back. her sincere lotte and bent izmir, Danmark.
