Obere Muhle - Bad Hindelang

I tried a lovely cheese soup bavarian style, a filet mignon medium rare and a perfect dessert. And it was great. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quite old, wooden style. Based on this it was a bit noisy. But in total recommendable.

The restaurant Obere Mühle is a comfy place with wonderful food. You can sit in the traditional main room and enjoy cheese soup or beef stew with home-made "Spätzle. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting the area. All the waitresses were really nice and welcoming.

This restaurant is an absolute must if you are after a special meal, but make sure you make a reservation. The restaurant was very busy for a Sunday evening, which was a good sign. The menu is very extensive, with a daily special menu of five courses, which three of our group chose. The courses were just the right size, and decent gaps in between. The food was expertly presented, and the ingredients were of high quality. Everything was just perfect, and none of us could criticise anything. This was quite simply the very best meal I have experienced in Germany, indeed the best meal I have had in a very long time. The environment is delightful, very warm and cosy with lots of atmosphere. I can't wait to return here as often as I can. For the standard of food, the prices are reasonable.

Staying in Bad Hindelang, we have enjoyed exploring the local restaurants and decided to try Obere Muhle. What a pleasure to walk to the restaurant, through fields and by a small steam. Not sure of what we would find, the restaurant is housed in a truly enchanting old farmhouse bedecked with geraniums and surrounded by a beautiful garden. There is also a museum, cheese shop and dairy along with antique shop.The beautiful architecture and ambiance was only matched by the perfect dinner, the food was tradional and beautifully prepared and presented. The service was impeccable from tradionally dressed wait staff. Our party of four savoured every mouthful and enjoyed a perfect evening before a well needed walk back home.

Probably one of the best restaurants in Oberallgäu at reasonable prices for great value. It's eating delicious Bavarian food in a museum. Also great for children to roam the large garden. The menu offers a good variety of typical local food. The meat is grilled on open fire, sauces are freshly made etc and the portions are well sized. The staff are super friendly and going out of there way to make the guest experience the best.
