Zum Haas - Bad Bergzabern

Was number 1 in Bad Bergzabern when we went there and after a couple of good steaks and great hospitality, we understood why.

We had both lunch and dinner here it was so good! Great authentic food and good wine made for a wonderful time in Bad Bergzabern. Very friendly service and the prices are also reasonable so go and enjoy!

Thank you, friendly local couple, for having directed us to the restaurant Haas, a little outside of the very city center. We had a delicious lunch in the small court yard, served by a friendly young waitor (the friendliness came from his heart) and inside, the restaurant was full as well. Not only we enjoyed it here. The meals are traditional Palatine (such as Saumagen, Lebenknödelsuppe or Knödel with Sauerkraut), and they also have international dishes - meat fish or sald - ... and then they serve everything also in half portions (for senior ladies and men). The "local" couple that took us to the Haas lives in Namibia, and comes to their homeland Pfalz every year. And every year they eat in the restaurant Haas. I can understand that. When I return to the south of the Pfalz, I will come back to this restaurant as well.

Small place, warm cozy with great food. It looked like the Flammkuchen is a major hit. I had a schnitzel and came back on Sunday night for the German Pizza, but they close on Sunday about the time they open normally, so I missed this treat.

The service is very friendly, the food is traditional, very tasty and served in generous portions. A good selection of local wines and spirits. The restaurant is small, however worth the wait if you can't get a table straight away.
