Loved le bistrot and Azay-le-Rideau! this was our 3rd day in France with a travel group of 31 (students and elders from new jersey.) when we arrived from 2 exhausting nonstop days in paris and I thought what was a teufel, but absolutely loved our hotel...(Les trois lys) although I had to climb with a heavy case. the hotel room looked like a dormitory without air conditioning and again, I though, what to the teufel, but that ended as my favorite of the 5 hotels we had during our trip in whole france. le bistrot was right opposite the hotel. everyone was so friendly and made us very welcome! bartender (samantha) was so sweet! we had luck being there when the city had a festival and it was by far, my favorite stop on our trip. they had a dj outside the bar and everyone in our group had a ball! they would travel all the way back to Azay-le-Rideau and le bistrot again and again, just because the small town is beautiful and how wonderful everyone was in le bistrot!
