Stair Inn - Ayr

Only diners in restaurant. Didn't like the cobweb on table as it looks ad though they were all set.up for a while. Food was fine although the strangest gammon steak ever seen. Don't know what the serving was with tea as we would have broken our teeth trying to bite it.

Great choice on the menu, something for everyone. Food was delicious, could tell it was freshly prepared. Staff were lovely. Takes us over an hour to get here, but is well worth the drive.

Service was excellent the staff were very friendly and helpful but we didn't find the food outstanding and the portions werent very big. I had the lamb and my partner the steak pie,we both felt there was more gravy than meat. After reading reviews before booking we expected more but left a bit dissapointed.

We ate in the lounge bar which was warm and welcoming. The homemade soup was delicious and both main meals were plentiful, beautifully presented and really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Some really original touches in the meal made it an evening to remember. We're looking forward to our next visit.
