Contribuiți la feedbackWhen we visited this cafe there were only 2 other customers yet our food took well over half an hour to reach the table, the tea was totally devoid of flavour (Aldi tea bags? and the quiche, although of a very high standard, was unacceptably tiny for just under £5 2 cups of hot brown liquid and 2 tiny portions of quiche came to over £12? We left and had to go into MK to get food afterwards because of the tiny portions. For the price I felt robbed.
Excellent food, cakes, sandwiches and home made soups. Also full English breakfast. Very friendly family run cafe.
Hogshaw Herbs, nestles in the heart of the Vale of Aylesbury, and is a delightful spot brimming with raised wooden display's of fresh Herb plants to create your own Herb bed back in your Kitchen Garden. There is a Duck pond, to the rear of the Herb garden, safely contained so younger members of your party can watch the daily lives of the Duck family. Hens roam, so there is a supply of freshly laid eggs to purchase. The Menu has very innovative fresh local sourced produce, classic quiche with pastry that is as light as a feather, salads with colour and crisp texture. I did notice a picture of the Queen of Baking Mary Berry opening Hogshaw Herb Cafe, and the Coffee cake I had while visiting, you could have presented to her for judging, and in my opinion been awarded a Rosette.
This cafe is a gem. The people are lovely, the decor is simple and fresh and homely and the food is just delicious. Freshly made quiches, made with eggs from the hens you see pecking around by the gate, served with salad and edible flowers grown in the plant area just outside and cakes which are baked as you sit with your coffee. Just right for taking a bit of time out and having a really good natter with friends, family, husband, children, anyone in fact!
I'm a pretty regular visitor to Hogshaw Herbs it's local, the staff are so friendly and the food is tasty, home made (usually by the staff who work here and straight forward. They have a really good selection of food, including bagels, paninis, jacket potatoes, quiche and delicious soups to name but a few. Also a delicious range of home made cakes : An ideal place for lunch, whether alone or with friends, but it's a good idea to book ahead if you're going as a group as this little place is very popular!Added bonus for the children to be able to see the ducks, sheep, lambs (timing dependant! and chickens as this is a working farm.
