Seewee - Awendaw

I just dined at this restaurant and the reviews were spot on. From the friendly owner helping us park to the hardworking waitress Kerry, everything was excellent. The food was amazing. I ordered the seafood special with flounder, oysters, and shrimp served with fried green tomatoes, while my wife had the fried shrimp with collard greens and red rice. Every dish was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh. The hush puppies that were brought out as a snack while we waited were a nice touch. Although we were tempted by the tempting dessert menu, we were too full to indulge. This restaurant has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorites for when we travel back this way.

Awesome down home cooking with obvious local flare. Fresh ingredients every day and reasonable prices. A bit small, but worth any discomfort to enjoy.

A local favorite seafood and country cooking restaurant. Located on Hwy. 17 in Awendaw in a non-descript old house. Best fried shrimp I've ever had!

We enjoyed a meal here. They have a nice variety of options including many sides and desserts. For drinks you get cans or bottles. They start you off with hush puppies while you wait to order. We ordered a crabcake meal, crab legs, flounder and shrimp, ham n cheese sandwich, chicken tenders, and shrimo Po Boi. For sides we ordered squash, fried mushrooms, onion rings, seasoned fries, mashed potatoes and gravy, and Mac n cheese. The fried items were a bit bland for our taste. The waitress did a great job serving us and the atmosphere was laid back and pleasant.

This place was one of the most all around enjoyable experiences I’ve had! The food was delicious! We had the crab dip, grouper and crab cakes, all cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty! The coleslaw may be some the best I’ve ever had! Butter beans and macaroni and cheese were on point! The atmosphere was equally enjoyable, with so much charm and original structure from the general store that was originally there. The service was exceptional! We loved talking to our server, his sister and the owner. It’s family owned and ran which speaks volumes to what a treat you’re in for! We will be back!
