Krokodil - Avtovo

Krokodil is a hidden gem across the street from the Dashkova Residence. The atmosphere is subdued, good for private conversations. The decor is tasteful and conservative. The food was quite well presented. I began with the French salmon salad. It was served in an appealing wide brimmed black bowl. This was followed by the rack of lamb. This is my specialty dish that I prepare for my own guests. So I was interested to see how they do it here. The presentation was excellent. It came on a platter with potato wedges garnished with amaranth, and pesto drops in olive oil. Unlike another restaurant nearby, the chef here properly cleaned the rib bones (handles). The racks were pan seared on both sides and rare in the middle. If you prefer it well done, you should definitely specify that. It was evident to me that the chef at Krokodil had been well trained in the art of details of both taste and presentation. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends looking for a quiet romantic evening, or a friendly conversation.

The waitress could speak a little bit of English and she was super nice. The food was beyond amazing. You need to take the apple pie dessert, I do not regret almost exploding from it, it was too delicious to not eat.
