Zax Restaurant & Bar - Austin

The restaurant had a strong smell of raw fish, so we opted to sit on the terrace instead. I ordered the pizza and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Unfortunately, my partner did not enjoy her cheese Manicotti as it lacked flavor. We found the prices to be much higher than we had anticipated, which was a bit of a surprise.

Good meal and service, with a wide selection of beer. Group 7. I love the tuna. Only disappointment was a mandatory 20% degree preprinted on the review. Isn't the whole point that a Gratuity should be discreet to reward great service?

I work at Zax and eat regularly. Good, consistent food. Great for lunch sessions, but sometimes hard to find easy parking. I often go from my office in downtown. A beautiful walk over the bridge from downtown. Daily specials are met and miss, but the staff is professional and friendly.

I hosted a happy hour at Zax with more than 40 participants. Staff went beyond and beyond to accommodate my group both before and during the event. Everyone enjoyed the wide range of beer, appetizers and dinner dishes. On a personal note, I was in Zax for small group dinner many times last year. The food has always been delicious and the staff very welcoming. It's my favorite place in Austin!

This is my 'work lunch ' treat to myself. They have really good sandwiches, and huge portions. The full sized BLT or whatever they call it is large enough that you can eat half at lunch and take the other half home. I do sometimes feel that they aren 't paying attention to their orders. I one time ordered a sandwich with a substitution. It came out wrong and the waiter said something to the likes of , oh sorry I just had 12 rubens come out, didn 't mean to get one of them wrong.
