Contribuiți la feedbackFood was great, but we paid $500 for the ten course meal and the pace was very slow and it was not worth it through the fifth course. We were disappointed and tired. But again the food was great and our server was nice.
Our third visit over the years is always the choice of my son for a special place on his birthday. It has always been inspired with excellent savory, talk about it tomorrow. We always make the 10 courses Grandmakase dinner so we can enjoy the experience in the restaurant. The third visit was not the charm for us, I'm sorry to say. I'm gonna go with this... it was spring break, it was SXSW... but we weren't thrilled this time and the dishes seemed to be too. From the 10 courses we didn't have to talk about it or wanted us to go there every other week.... No, it wasn't inspired this time. If you spend $500 for 3 people... hope and wish. I'd like to try again if it's not so busy... it's definitely the place to be.... I hope they had a night. But the waiting staff was excellent/superb. You did the night.
We showed up for Wednesday dinner at 5:45pm. The complimentary valet parking at the door was friendly and easy. We were seated in a booth (a little cramped unfortunately) and enjoyed the sparkling water. Our waiter, Tyler, was very helpful at helping us navigate the overwhelming menu and select items for our dinner. Food was very good the fish was fresh and wonderful. Unfortunately, at the end of the night, our ordered dessert got lost in the shuffle and we waited half an hour before Tyler corrected the situation. He brought extra sorbet to apologize. Additionally, the restaurant's noise level got so loud that we were yelling just to hear each other. Good food, but noisy.
Took my father and his wife to celebrate me coming into town from Indiana and surprising him for his 80th birthday. They both loved the whole experience. (Visiting where I use to live I know I had to pick my favorite restaurant, uchiko)
Every. single. time. Amazing. Stunning food experiences. Felt a bit rushed this time during the chef’s tasting. To the point where we asked to slow it down. They did not. I love the vibe. The experiences are best in class. Cannot wait to return next year.
