Titaya's Thai Cuisine - Austin

I was incredibly satisfied with my meal. Our server was both courteous and attentive. We ordered one mild and one hot curry dish, and both had a spice level that was just right. The Taro Corn Fritters were a delightful surprise. I got so caught up in enjoying the food that I forgot to take photos of the rest of the meal!

Titaya's has been delighting customers with authentic Thai cuisine at their North Lamar location for nearly two decades, having opened in the fall of 2005. I'm happy to say that the quality remains exceptional today. We began our meal with a generous hot pot of Tom Kha soup with chicken, and for my main course, I enjoyed a rich and spicy yellow curry, which was flavorful without being overly hot (served with brown rice, a nice touch). The portions were substantial, and the classic Thai dishes truly warmed both the belly and the soul. Overall, it was a fantastic five-star dining experience!

It used to be the only restaurant I would visit for special occasions and when I craved Thai food. Unfortunately, the quality has declined over time, and the flavors no longer taste authentic.

This place used to be my preferred Thai place in town. But last time I went my green curry felt literally like it was made from a bag of dried powder and hot water, a LOT of water, with added microwaved vegetables. The vegetables, clearly clicked in steam, tasted nothing like summered in curry. And it had no eggplants! And the after effects are another story...

I was recommended Titayas multiple times, and I'm so glad to discover such a great Thai restaurant near my home! The service was fantastic—our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. We enjoyed the spinach dumplings and the suspended laymen, both of which were delicious. My friend ordered the jungle curry, which smelled incredible and was generously portioned; I definitely plan to return soon to try it myself. Unfortunately, they were out of mango sticky rice since it's out of season, but the banana dessert we had was really good, albeit a bit too sweet for my taste—I ended up eating more than half of it!
