I went here an a whim... trying cuisine I haven't had before. Got the Pollo Catrachos fried, bone-in chicken with plantains, cabbage, creamy sauce, and pickled onions and root vegetables). It was a very generous portion leg quarter plus additional drumstick). It was tasty, crunchy, seasoned well, not greasy and cooked thoroughly... some of the best fried chicken I've had. I appreciate that there was no sign of blood near the middle or by the bones!! That typically ruins it for me immediately. Overall, it was good food. The price was very high $16.89 cc price), although I don't mind paying more for good food. I would like to say I would go back, but I just can't get past that this food truck is parked next to dumpsters... not immediately next to them, but close enough. At least it doesn't back directly up to dumpsters like one place I went to. Nevertheless, I just can't stomach knowing my food is being cooked near such an eye and nose sore!! Not pleasant thoughts smelling the air while your food is getting cooked. I'm not sure how anyone sits outside the food trailer and eats with that smell lingering. I almost didn't go through with my purchase because of this, but at least the food was very tasty.
The best Honduran fried chicken I ever had in Austin. I loved it and I will definitely come back.
I just placed my second order (ever) from this food truck via Uber Eats. I thoroughly enjoyed the pechuga con tajadas (Honduran fried chicken breast with fried green banana slices). As a Honduran, I can certainly recommend this place to anyone new or used to delicious Honduran food.
I haven't tried any other item on the menu but I can recommend the Popusas, best I've had so far.
